Modern dermatology offers multiple avenues for replenishment. Daily skincare products containing hyaluronic acid, such as serums and masks, primarily work by forming a moisturizing film on the epidermis and penetrating the stratum corneum. Different molecular weights of hyaluronic acid possess different properties: large molecules form a protective film on the surface, while smaller molecules can penetrate deeper. In the field of medical aesthetics, subcutaneous injections of hyaluronic acid fillers can directly replenish deficiencies in the dermis, with significant and long-lasting effects. Furthermore, recent studies have shown that oral hyaluronic acid supplements may indirectly affect skin condition through intestinal absorption.
It is important to note that external supplementation and internal production are not substitutes, but rather synergistic. Appropriate hyaluronic acid supplementation, combined with comprehensive care such as sun protection and a healthy diet, can more effectively maintain normal skin physiological function.
