The most crucial difference lies in their moisturizing mechanisms. Sodium hyaluronate, on the other hand, has a more comprehensive moisturizing mechanism. In terms of efficacy, glycerin excels in its strong penetration and rapid onset of action, quickly relieving dry and tight skin. However, its moisturizing effect is less lasting and requires the addition of other ingredients to enhance its water-locking effect. Sodium hyaluronate, on the other hand, excels in its long-lasting and gentle moisturizing properties. Its large molecular structure makes the moisturizing film more stable, locking in moisture for several hours while also providing a mild skin barrier repair effect. It is less irritating and suitable for a wider range of skin types. Furthermore, sodium hyaluronate can increase skin plumpness and help improve fine lines, while glycerin focuses solely on basic moisturizing and lacks anti-aging benefits.

Their application scenarios also differ. Glycerin is more suitable for emergency hydration in dry environments or for addition to refreshing skincare products, suitable for daily use by oily and combination skin types. Sodium hyaluronate is more suitable for long-term moisturizing and maintenance, especially for dry skin, sensitive skin, and use during dry seasons such as autumn and winter. In actual skincare, the two are often added together to create a synergistic effect of "rapid hydration + long-lasting water lock," enhancing overall moisturizing power.
