Hyaluronic Acid the sodium salt of hyaluronic acid, is a linear high molecular weight mucopolysaccharide composed by thousands of repeating disaccharide units of D-glucuronic acid and N-acetyl-D-glucosamine.

The molecular weight of SH is 3 kDa-200 MDa. Hyaluronic Acid with different molecular weight has different function in cosmetics.
Compared with other humectants, Hyaluronic Acid  is less effected by the environment, as it has the highest hygroscopic capacity in a relatively low humidity, while has the lowest hygroscopic capacity in a relatively high humidity. Hyaluronic Acid  is widely well known in the cosmetic industry as an excellent moisturizer and is called the “Ideal natural moisturizing factor”.
